Bohemian Babydoll tunic - a pattern by Elegance & Elephants

I was thrilled when Heidi (the brain behind the fabulous Elegance & Elephants) asked me to try out her latest pattern, The Bohemian Babydoll dress and top. I adore her patterns, and am super pleased with each one I have made

I made a few minor changes, but pretty much kept it as is. I lengthened the top slightly to make a tunic version and added a button placket to the back. The pattern is originally designed to be made without any closures so it can easily slip on and off....GENIUS...and I will be making another version like that for my squirmy toddler!

I used a really soft and light cotton voile that I bough ages ago....just waiting for the perfect summer project.
I LOVE how light and airy this top is

What better to pair with a Bohemian top then a super light pair of wide leg pants! I used a self drafted pattern for the pants, made with a really light chambray grey cotton.

The pants were also perfect to play in, a nice change from all the 'skinny' / tight pants in her wardrobe. I added some back darts and front pleats to give a fitted look to the hips and made the waistband from stretchy knit....easy on and off. Perfect for a little yoga!

I  made a matching sun hat....didn't really come out as what I had planned in my head...but it does the job

I really think this is the perfect 3 season pattern, and I see many more to come.....

Now , go get your copy and start sewing!
