Since the movie Frozen was released, we have slowly become a Frozen dominant household. I am sure that most of you can relate! :) Along with the daily viewings comes the daily askes for everything frozen....with major emphasis on ANYTHING elsa!
And since it is nearly impossible to find anything frozen in the stores these days...I am been coming up with as many things Frozen as I can
I decided to make some Summer Frozen items, and came up with this sleeveless tunic, perfect for all seasons really, so no fights about when it can get worn (always a plus)
I used the Tulip Pinafore pattern by too sweets pattern, Part of this weeks Sew Fab pattern bundle
I used a white twill for the outer shell and a light blue cotton for the lining. Using a light blue wool felt and an xacto blade, I cut out an silhouette of Elsa that I traced from a coloring sheet. I have included the image below that you can download to save you some time
Next I sewed the felt cut out on SLOWLY, lifting and turning the work as needed. (you could also do this by hand to give a really neat finish to the edges.
I finished it off by sewing some snowflakes, sequins and beads on it. I also added a few iron-on jewels to create her "snow powers"
this is a relatively fast project to do...and boy was it a hit! :)
So grab you copy today in the bundle and make your little Elsa a perfect frozen summer top!
And of course, Here is my little one showcasing her 'snow magic' powers! ....it is a pretty magical little top
Check back all this week to see the other Frozen things I made using patterns from the bundle
